The meeting began with a round of introductions from attendants.
Michael Russom from Efficiency Vermont (EV) gave a presentation about previous CFL community events in other Vermont towns (Poultney, Middlebury, Manchester, Pittsford and Bennington), organized with the support of EV. These events raised awareness about energy efficiency and savings by offering Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs to town's residents.
The group began brainstorming and looking into the possibility of hosting such an event in Williston. The event would engage a local retailer (Natural Provisions came up) to offer the CFL bulbs to Williston residents at a discounted price and would seat a goal for a number of bulbs that residents would achieve through the event.
Tom agreed to be the liaison with Efficiency Vermont and to begin the application process to receive support from EV for the CFL event.
The group felt that before fully committing to such an event, it would be necessary to define a mission statement and goals for the group itself. The group felt we need to set roles and means of communications and then move into organizing a first event, which could be the CFL event.
Cheryl agreed to send along her notes from the WING event about the initial set of goals for the group. Group members agreed to think about this and add and edit Cheryl notes. People also agreed that part of this job should come done with the WING report, soon to be released.

The group decided to create a blog for the group for initial communication exchanges (Mariana accepted to create it). The group decided to name the blog (at least temporarily) Williston Green Initiatives.
